Her eyes turned fluorescent green and she was seei Her eyes turned fluorescent green and she was seeing yellow too. Most people would panic about going blind… but she didn’t. She stayed calm and figured out what caused it and how to fix it with one simple move. The answer is in this video if you watch closely. Did you catch it? What do you think caused it and did you see how she fixed it? I’ll go through it with you in the comments. Thanks for sharing margoinireland

I almost didn’t get in to med school. I didn’t hav I almost didn’t get in to med school. I didn’t have great test scores. Missed getting into a top residency.
Now I’m a neurosurgeon at a great hospital.

If you’re thinking about quitting or feel like it’s slipping away… you’re not out of it. Please don’t give up. Please keep on chasing your dreams. If they let me in, they’ll let you in.
It’s not where you start. It’s whether you keep going.

Where are you in the journey right now?

Every time this man went to the bathroom… his eye Every time this man went to the bathroom… his eye bulged out and he lost vision. The patient has some interesting ideas of what he thought was going on. The doctor had some ideas and was wrong initially.

When his scan came back normal the patient did one simple thing during a repeat CT that suddenly gave him the diagnosis.

This is one of those medical cases that sounds impossible until you see it.

What did you think was causing it?

This is where medicine is right now. A tumor took This is where medicine is right now.
A tumor took out half this patient’s pelvis, including the part that holds the leg in place. The options were devastating: lose the leg… or keep it attached to something that wouldn’t function.

So surgeons rebuilt what was missing.

A fully custom 3D-printed implant, designed to match his exact anatomy, down to every curve, screw, and muscle attachment. Not a generic prosthesis. A true reconstruction.

He didn’t just survive the sarcoma. He got back to training.

It’s hard to believe this is possible… but it is.

If something in your body could be rebuilt like this, what would you want fixed? #sarcoma #surgery #healthcare #medical #medtech
Even at 51… even as a full professor… some things Even at 51… even as a full professor… some things never change.

My mom still takes my research papers and puts them on her fridge like they’re my biggest accomplishment. And honestly… I love that she does.

There’s something about how parents see you that never evolves with titles or numbers. It’s just pride.

Smoking plus oxygen can turn one spark into a hosp Smoking plus oxygen can turn one spark into a hospital-wide emergency. How would you stop this fire emergency from happening?

As a doctor, I’d start here: remove every lighter and cigarette, remove oxygen only if medically safe, treat nicotine withdrawal aggressively, increase supervision, move them closer to the nursing station, stop visitors from bringing anything in, and if they still refuse, assess capacity and escalate safety protocols.

None of these options are perfect.

Doing nothing is not an option.

What would actually work best?

Looks wild, but the real takeaway is simple: respe Looks wild, but the real takeaway is simple: respect the spine and know the anatomy. The spine protects critical structures, so force, precision, and stability matter. There are strong structures between the skull and spine that help prevent something like this from happening, but RA, EDS, trauma, or degeneration can change that stability. This is about awareness and safety. In my spine division, we work closely with chiropractors and other specialists and take a team approach to spine care.

A huge amount of money goes into promoting medical A huge amount of money goes into promoting medical devices to doctors and hospitals. I’m not pointing at any specific company or physician. I happen to like both physicians who work in industry and industry reps. This is just my perspective. I just wish more of that investment went toward lowering costs for patients and making care more accessible. That’s where it would make the biggest difference.

Curious how others see it.

This is what catastrophic medical nightmare looks This is what catastrophic medical nightmare looks like in real time.
A brain aneurysm actively bleeding vs a heart wall rupturing open both can be deadly in minutes, but they behave completely differently, and that difference decides survival.

One can handle large volumes of blood… until pressure shuts it down.
The other can’t tolerate even a small amount before pressure spikes and damage begins.

Most people get this wrong. Which one did you pick?
