She hears her heartbeat in her head… every second She hears her heartbeat in her head… every second of every day.
Most people would ignore this and that’s the problem.
I’m a neurosurgeon. I share the things happening in the brain that people don’t recognize until it’s serious.
This can go undiagnosed for years but that constant whooshing can be a warning sign of something dangerous.
The good news? It’s treatable if you know what you’re hearing and seek medical help.

Follow for more neurosurgery insights.

A 22-year-old goes from completely locked in, awak A 22-year-old goes from completely locked in, awake but unable to move or speak, to walking again. Not days later. Not weeks later. This took time, rehab, and something most people wouldn’t even notice early on. Cases like this are a reminder that recovery isn’t always predictable, and sometimes the smallest preserved function can change everything. It raises a bigger question we don’t always have a clean answer to: when someone recovers like this, what actually made the difference? #health

Most people miss at least one.

This one sounds wild, but it’s absolutely real. A This one sounds wild, but it’s absolutely real.

A recent report described 70 patients with a new eye condition due to a virus normally impacting only shrimp and other aquatic animals.

The good news:
It’s been limited to the eye.
When caught early, doctors have been able to manage the complications successfully.
There’s no direct treatment for the virus itself but treatment is focused on controlling the inflammation and the dangerously high eye pressure.

What we still don’t fully understand:
How it gets into humans.
Whether it’s a true infection or more of an inflammatory reaction.

There’s no evidence of life-threatening complications, but it can affect vision if not treated early.

This wasn’t made up for the video it’s an emerging condition doctors are actively trying to understand. Read more in the medical literature or I can answer questions as I’ve reviewed it fully.

People admire surgeons for pushing through anythin People admire surgeons for pushing through anything. But what if the same culture that rewards that level of dedication is also pushing people too far? Surgeons have collapsed in the OR. Some have even died mid-surgery. So where should the line be between commitment and a system that asks too much and what would actually fix it?

Two drunk men made the same mistake… and ended up Two drunk men made the same mistake… and ended up in a situation no one should ever be in.
One swallowed a live catfish. The other swallowed a live mouse.

Most people immediately think they know which is worse.
But medically… that instinct is often wrong.

If you had no choice which one are you taking? And why? I want to hear your reasoning.

A virus that should only be found in shrimp and aq A virus that should only be found in shrimp and aquatic animals is now infecting humans.
Not theoretical. Not historical. Real patients.

It causes intense inflammation and eye pressure so high some people need surgery just to protect their vision.
Scientist still don’t understand how it became infectious to humans.
We’ve seen what happens when an animal virus crosses into humans.
That’s rare. But when it does… it matters.

So here’s the real question:
how often does this happen quietly before anyone realizes what it is?#health

This one feels almost impossible at first glance. This one feels almost impossible at first glance.

A young man swallowed something after losing a bet… and it ended up lodged deep in his esophagus, right next to some of the most critical structures in the body. It looks obvious for a second and then it doesn’t.

Take a close look before you read the comments.

What do you think it actually was?

This looks fake. It isn’t. Watch his forehead clos This looks fake. It isn’t.
Watch his forehead closely he can make it move on command. As a neurosurgeon, I’ll explain whether it’s actually his brain or not.

There’s a real reason this is happening… and it’s not just a weird trick. It is a very serious problem with high risks and complications.
That’s the part I can’t get over.
You’re walking around knowing this could turn into something even more serious.

So be honest would you leave it alone because it’s “fine”… or fix it before it becomes a terrible disaster?
